What if you could buy TIME? FIND OUT HOW

We all have twenty-four hours in a day, but what if you could actually buy time? What would you do?

I was watching In Time the other day and it conquered to me how deep the message was. The last time I watched it, I never considered what it actually meant or the implication of the message. Sure, the movie got a mixed bag of reviews, but in essence it represents our society. This is by no means a movie review, but life is all about buying time not in the literal sense. We’re always looking for ways for time to be spread out. Whether it’s more time with a loved, hoping to get more time to be richer or to get to do all things on our to-do list.

Life has become a series of numbers and it all begins with the clock either on the wall or our wrists. There was a time when that wasn’t the case, when every moment was cherished and we relished in being present. That isn’t the case anymore. We’re too busy, to absorbed in what’s happening in our lives that the outside what doesn’t count. I do this as well and I had a light bulb moment when I watched the movie.

The problem is we’re all on a journey, a narrow street and sometimes we walk it alone. Other times we are not sure if we need anyone else, but ourselves to get to our destination. Is the problem not enough time or something else? For other people it probably is. More than ten years ago, I lost friend, we were close in the way teenage girls. You the trend, boys, ranting on about parents and how cruel life was. She healthy and all I did was blink and she was gone. One moment lasted a life time.

I never got to say bye and in that moment when my soul crushed I wished I could buy time. Enough time to say all the things I want to say, but couldn’t. To find the right words to show her how I felt, but that didn’t happen. Sometimes it’s about leaving behind a legacy, honing the skills God gave us and make something out of it. Learning a new skill, language or traveling.

It’s funny when all is said and done, when life has thrown curve balls and age has caught up the one thing we say is I wish I had enough time. We always want more seconds, minutes and hours. It never seems enough, but the honest truth is we all have twenty-four hours and that’s enough time.

So what if we could buy time what would the result be?

Love More

We’re so concerned with wanting more time that we miss out on what we do have. We focus on the negatives instead of trying our best to live in the present. There’s this powerful quote by Hermes, “You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again.” I purposefully left out the part about doom and gloom, Hermes was a deep philosopher, and that must have come with some baggage as well.

The point of that quote is simple, every moment we’re a new version of ourselves. We have new memories, skills or lessons. Even if it’s as small as learning to be more understanding or learning a new song. We’re beautiful everyday because it’s a new version of ourselves. If we stopped for a second, realized that and welcomed it life would be better.

We would love each other more, be kinder and warmer to each other. Because there’ll never be enough time, even if you had all the money in the world you’d still have twenty-four hours. And those twenty-fours are important because it can either break or build you up.

You might say that’s impossible, but all it takes is one bad day for you to go on a bender. All you need are twenty-four hours to bridge the gap between your loved ones. Your life can change with 1440 minutes and 525,600 minutes can change change someone’s life. So if that’s the case then we should love with all our soul, live a life as if every second and minute counts. Don’t wait for your clock to be running out of time to do something about your life. Don’t let time speed out of your grasp.

Live More

Yes, you’re breathing, but are you truly living. There’s a difference with biding time and making every second count. We’re trained from the time we go to school to watch the clock. That’s all we do, wait for the time when we clock out and go back to our homes. That’s our life. Most people don’t want to live like that, but a lot of us do. We never go out of our comfort zone, never dare do anything risky and refuse to do what scares us.

Until you venture out you’ll never conquer your fear. It doesn’t matter what anyone says, you’ll still remain in the dark. You’ll always remain behind while others race in front of you. Be more to experiences because you never know what will come from doing just that.

Doing something new is terrifying, believe me I know. I’ve made decisions that I thought were the best at the time and only I realize I was afraid of what it all would mean. And with age I’ve come to the realization that life doesn’t happen the way you want it to, but that should never stop you from going out and making ever second count.

If you want to know more about how to live a more balanced life, Project Life Mastery wrote a blog post about it. To truly live, you need to embrace every area of your life. You need to go after what gives you life, because it is there that you will find the key to happiness.

Your Why Should Push You

If you could buy time what would you do? What language would you learn? What passion project would you start? If you had all the time in the world then where’d you be? This question is a difficult one to answer. It could be that option seems impossible so often we don’t even think about it at all. It should drive you, when that happens you won’t.

Most of have us have no idea how to use our why to go after our dreams and that is because we don’t understand the bigger picture. Your why is simply what drives you and this all comes down to your passions. If you are afraid of going after your dreams, I wrote a blog post about why people don’t go after their passions.

Oh God to reach the point of death and realize one has not lived.”  David Thoreau

The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without purpose.” Miles Munroe.

You have only one life, there’s always the choice with what you do with that life, but if you want to live a life worthy living then let your passion push. To truly live you have to pass the obstacles in front of you and once you do that your life will be full of purpose. Will all of us let our why drive us, no. The problem is that fear will stop us before we even leave the door. It will stop us where we stand and until we push fear out the way we’ll never make it out of the door.

Time is a commodity that we take advantage of, if we could buy time then would life be easier? Does it mean that if we had the choice would we make better decisions or would time run out quickly? The truth is even if we had all the time in the world it would always run out because we don’t appreciate the opportunities laid before us. We only have one life and to live a great life we need to follow our purpose because only then will we truly live.

If you had all the time in the world what would you do with it, how would you live your life? You still have time so go out there and live a life of purpose.
