5 Side-hustles you can start making money today

If you want to stop being lazy, then these five simple ways will help you do just that.

There are a plethora of side-hustles out there. If we were to take a deep look, you might find hundreds of side-hustle. Some are online and others aren’t. Some require more time and others less time. Either way, side hustles are a great way to generate access cash. If you do it right then that side can replace your day job and you can be making more money than you did before.

The question isn’t whether side-hustles are a great time investment. No. The question which side hustles are more profitable because they are so many side hustles out there that some are just not worth your time. So, below are the top side hustles you should do. And as I stated above that you can start them and make money today. It does sound like a bold claim. After you read this article you will understand why I even made it in the first place. Here’s a disclaimer there’s no guarantee you will make money today or in the future because let’s face it there’s no magic genie granting wishes out there.

However, if you do the work consistently. Go out there and start getting clients, you can make money. All it takes really is the first, second and even third steps for you to make. So, yes you can start making money today or in the near future if you put in the work and actually start working on your side-hustle. Below are five side-hustles you can start making money today.

Blogging

There are many factors when it comes to blogging and many phases. Phase one which I call the start is when you are ab absolute newbie and don’t know much about blogging except what you read here and there. Phase one is all down to the basics. And to making money in this phase you don’t need to create products. In fact, often specialists and coaches will say don’t.

I understand this because when you start and are just learning the basics it can get complicated. Though it doesn’t have to be. Since I made that hefty promise in the beginning we will stick with phase two. I won’t jump to phase two, that is another completely different ball game. How do you make money in phase one of blogging/ It comes down to two methods; services and affiliate marketing.

When I first started I did services. I looked at my skill set and then I was like okay I will contact a few people I know and ask them if they wanted to hire me. I did such a bang up job that I was the woman the job that they hired me. But I didn’t start with affiliate marketing. Now on to affiliate marketing, they are people out there that don’t feel confident in doing that. That’s alright, you can sell other people’s products.

When I was doing my service, I found great affiliate marketing programs and combined it. I made $200 in the first week on the job. Not too bad for a start. You can look at products or programs you use that you like and review them. It helps if it’s around something you have a passion for you. So you can have a blog about training husky puppies. All you need to do is look at programs that cater to this niche. Your blog doesn’t have to be fancy in the beginning. This is where I went wrong, thinking it had to be.  This is a side-hustle you can start making money today. As long as you do it the right way.

Freelancing/Freelance writing

Way back in 2016 and 2017, the first side-hustle I ever did was freelancing. Was it hard? Not as hard as I thought it was. In fact, I made a bit of money and it was then that I was hooked. I knew I could make money online, but when I actually did. I realized the possibilities. Freelancing is one of the most profitable side hustles, but it also depends on a few factors.

There is a lot of competition so you have to get out of your comfort zone and market yourself until your face falls off. Even if you on a platform like Upwork you still need to market yourself in the way you talk about yourself in the about section. If you do this well you can get interest. This side hustle can help you make money tomorrow because that is what happened to me. Still, I had to find a voice. Figure out a niche and then broaden my appeal. I also had to bid for projects and this is where I managed to market myself.

One thing with freelancing is you need to know your worth. It’s important to start small and then grow as you go. They are so many freelancing sites out there that it is easy to join all of them. Focus on one until you have grown on that site and are making the money you want to make. Then you can go to the others. Another thing that is important to note is have a website. This will set you a part from the hundreds of freelances that don’t have their own websites. Also you should check out what are the top freelancers on the platform you decide. Then look at the services they offer. Is the service something that interests you? What do they provide? Can you add something so that you stick out?

If freelancing is something that might interest you check it out. It is impossible for you to start making money today if you start doing it. Yes, this is a side-hustle you can start making money today.

Teaching English

Are you proficient in English? Can you at least string sentences together? Can speak basic English? Then you can teach English online. They are some programs that require you to do an English exam, but it isn’t that hard to pass if you can speak basic English. You then start teaching English. Then they are other programs where you do an assessment on their site and if you pass then you can start teaching.

Often you will teaching students in Asia and Africa how to speak English. Other platforms you can teach anyone around the world who wants to learn the language. It depends on the program. This is a great side hustle because you can teach English for an hour or two per day depending on your schedule. This is a great second income. You can make about $20 to $50 per hour teaching English online.

Let’s do a bit of math so that we can paint an accurate picture of what you could possibly earn when starting out. If you are starting you will get paid $20 per hour. If you work twice a day that is $40 a day. If you work seven days a week that is $280 per week and $1120. In six months that is $6,720. As soon as you start, this is a side-hustle that you can start making money today.

Dropshipping

In the last few years, dropshipping has grown in popularity. Now what exactly is dropshipping. It is a where brands don’t keep/store or manage their inventory. What happens is when an order is placed it is sent to a third party who will fulfill the order on their behalf. The headache is taken out because you aren’t the one who will distribute the products. With dropshipping you can start making money today. Of course, dropshipping isn’t for everyone.

It is a costly avenue. You will need to have an ad budget. Not everyone has this. This side hustle is also not beginner friendly because you need to be good at marketing or not be afraid to pay for marketing support or services. However, if you decide to do dropshipping if none of that scared you can make a substantial amount from this. Many people become millionaires because of dropshipping.

One of the most important factors to dropshipping is research. On every stage you need to research. You need to research your competitors, the niche, how to market your product and even there’s interest in your product. If you don’t research you will lose more money. It also requires more time than other side hustles because most of your time you will be searching for marketing trends and figuring out whether your marketing campaign is working. This is a side hustle you can start making money today but remember it isn’t for everyone.

Virtual assistant

If all the above side-hustles give you hives because they sound so daunting then you can do this. Being a virtual assistant isn’t as hard as it sounds. Often you can start with simple tasks like responding to messages, managing social media accounts and writing emails. It also depends on what services you want to give. They are a lot of virtual assistants who only do this as one of their many side-hustles. So you can work four hours a day and then do another side.

The great thing about this you can make a considerable amount of money without even stressing yourself. If you go on freelance platforms then you can start making money today. There’s a huge demand for virtual assistants as more people start businesses. Being a virtual assistant isn’t a walk in the park too. You need to be on top of things, organized, have a good memory and have great time management. Not everyone will make a great virtual assistant because their personality doesn’t align with the tasks associated with being a virtual assistant.

Though this is a great avenue to start out when you are looking at side hustles. Compared to the ones listed above this one would have to be the easiest to start in. Even though there is a lot of competition, there’s also wiggle room so you can do this without stressing about overdoing it with marketing yourself. You can also make your prices per hour competitive.

Why It’s Urgent That You Find Your Purpose?

Why It’s Urgent That You Find Your Purpose?

Why it’s URGENT THAT YOU FIND YOUR PURPOSE

If you want to stop being lazy, then these five simple ways will help you do just that.

Finding your purpose is so important. It’s so important I would even boldly claim that it’s urgent. Below I list the reasons it’s urgent that you find your purpose.

Yes, you read that right. How many of us are wondering if we are on the right track? If we are in the right profession or even chose the right degree. But now it’s too late because we are stuck with our decisions. This is far from the truth. When I graduated from university, I questioned if I made the right choice. I ignored the whole find your purpose and get a job talk I had heard endless times.

Having money flowing in is important, but if you don’t know what your purpose is, then you will wander around aimlessly trying to figure it out.

Unfortunately there’s no big button we can press to figure it out. Trust me, I tried looking for the button. I couldn’t find it. We need to understand that finding your purpose will give you clarity. Now that you have the snippet, let’s get to the meat. Before you leave, you will understand why it’s urgent to find your purpose.

Clarity

It’s urgent you find your purpose because of clarity. They are so many people who spend countless hours working a job they hate. Some spend hours looking for jobs that they know they will hate. I get it. Cash flow is important. This isn’t 1999. It’s 2023. That means you can do anything and make money from it. If you want a side hustle, you can literally pour over the many side hustle sites out there so you can get cash flow.

Once you get cash flow or at least have it coming in, you can figure out what to do. Clarity is so important because you will understand what steps to take. Clarity has done wonders for me in my business. This is the thing with purpose. Once you hone into it, you it will take you places you never imagined. Without clarity, you spend that time trying to figure out what you are doing wrong.

And it will take you years because you aren’t clear about where you want to go. Let’s say that you are working a 9-5 job that you hate. The hours are lousy and so is the pay. You complain about it constantly, but you do nothing. This won’t help you. There’s a time for complaining and there’s a time for doing. You got to pick yourself up and try again.

Finding your purpose will give you perspective

Fast forward to 2012. I was an aimless kid who didn’t understand what I wanted to do with my life. I was in college, but hated the degree I was doing. It felt as if I was wandering the halls of aimless and dazed. I had to take a gap year between my studies and this made things worse. I missed being in college. Not because I loved it there, but because I didn’t know what my friends or people on social media would think of me.

When I went back to college. Things were different. I was different. A part of me didn’t want to be there anymore or even finish the degree. I eventually graduated and got my first internship at a job I hated. I wondered if I had made the wrong choice. It took me years to find my purpose. To figure out what I wanted to do and eventually I found what I wanted. Finding my purpose gave me perspective. A perspective. That I never thought I needed, and it changed everything. It’s urgent to find your purpose because you stop wasting your time.

What happened to me is I stopped caring what people were doing and just wanted to focus on my purpose. It always made me realize that I had a choice in what I did with my life.

You will become more confident

It’s urgent to find your purpose because you will ultimately become a much more confident version of yourself. I used to struggle with my confidence. I had low self-esteem and self worth. I didn’t understand my place in this world. Then when I found my purpose, that changed. I became much more confident. This changed everything for me. I became bolder and a risk taker. Before I found my purpose, I never thought I would write two nonfiction books, start a YouTube channel and go on podcasts.

I am an introvert. So stepping out of my comfort zone was far too terrifying, but now I realize it is electrifying. I started another blog even though my first blog failed. Why? Because my purpose was far more powerful than my fears. We all have a choice in who we become. Often, our past mistakes prevent us from moving forward. We are always looking behind our shoulder. When you find your purpose, you stop doing this. Not saying that it’s instant, but the more you focus on your purpose, the less you care about your mistakes.

We all have made mistakes. We all have come short. The benefit of finding your purpose is that you cling to this. Your purpose is the reason you went through all the obstacles and challenges. It only made you stronger.

Money mindset

The fourth reason finding your purpose is urgent is because of the money mindset. What this basically means is you develop a money mindset. Now, when you have a money mindset, you understand ways to generate money. It seems so out there, but what you used to see as luck, you just see it as an opportunity to grow. You are not afraid to take risks and train yourself to be receptive to money. Okay, I am not talking about manifesting or a get rich scheme. No matter how much you want $50,000 to appear in your bank account doesn’t mean it will.

I will not sell you a get rich scheme. Money mindset is just what happens when you find your purpose but it doesn’t mean you will instantly make money. As kids, we are trained to think that it’s extremely hard to make money. A part of this is true. Nothing worthwhile is easy. However, when you develop a money mindset you see opportunity everywhere. They are seven billion people in the world. Four billion are on the internet.

When you understand what your purpose is, opportunities open. You are more willing to invest in yourself and the training that you might need. You are also willing to sell a course, ebook or coaching program if you believe it will help your audience. You’re willing to put yourself out there.

Failure doesn’t crush you

It’s urgent you find your purpose because failure won’t crush you. When I was starting out criticism wasn’t my friend. Failure was crushing, but when I found my purpose. I knew that this was what I wanted to do and there was no going back. I knew what I wanted and what I didn’t. That is so important because when failure knocked on my door, I took that as a learning lesson and grew from it.

This is the mindset you will develop when you find your purpose and focus on it. Your purpose is proof that self doubt isn’t as important as helping people with your knowledge or skillset. This is the pivot every successful person learns. They realize that failure is simply the building blocks they need to grow and learn from their experience. This is also how you should see failure. As a way to keep learning and improving. Take every step one at a time. Then you will learn and grow from that.

Learn How to Redirect Rejection

Learn How to Redirect Rejection

learn how to redirect redirection

Here is how you can redirect rejection into success

Rejection sucks. When I was younger I faced rejection from every angle. At school I struggled making friends. The first real friend I made was when I was eight years and that was because I transferred to a new school. When I was eleven, I faced rejection because no kid wanted me on their team when playing sports. I was always picked last for dodge ball. When I was older I struggled to cope with school so I faced rejection there. People thought I wasn’t smart enough or good enough.

This played like a song in my ears. Am I good enough? I kept asking myself that. Over the years, I learned to think differently about rejection. That is primarily because I felt like I had no idea what else to do. Rejection isn’t easy. It never is. Often we think there’s nowhere out of this. If society and those we love reject then what? Rejection doesn’t stop the older we get. We just recognize it for what it is. That this is it? People don’t want me here. Or I haven’t gotten this position because of X.

Sometimes it’s not because you aren’t qualified, but it can be due to timing. Thing is rejection isn’t spoken about often. That is because when we become adults it’s as if we should get accustomed to rejection. Almost as if it’s a badge of honor. What if you could turn rejection into success? What if you can turn redirect rejection? If you do this then there’s no stopping you from going after what you want. There’s a beauty to that. We don’t talk about that. In this blog post we will look at a new way to think about rejection. This is how you can turn rejection into success.

Love yourself even in the storms

When I was a kid, my sister would look at herself fondly in the mirror. I never understood. When I was older I got it, my sister was learning how to love herself first. Despite what anyone told her, she loved who she was. It was then that I understood what love was. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. We say this often that it has lost meaning. You need to love yourself first before you can love anyone else.

The reason why rejection hurts more than it should is because we don’t love ourselves. We don’t love who we are in the storms. We don’t who we are when no one is validating our existence. Take a look at social media. It’s a toxic wasteland because people are seeking validation. When they don’t hundreds of likes or comments on their posts it’s like the world is falling a part. That is why there’s an wide spread of mental illnesses. Sure many people go through trauma and that is the cause of their mental illnesses. They never get better because they are seeking validation from outsiders.

How you turn rejection into success is that you need to love yourself regardless of what the world says about you. Redirect rejection. Love yourself even more. Fall in love with yourself. That is a hard thing to do. We are so set in the way we see ourselves. Often it’s negative belief. What if you change that into positives? Your life will change in more ways than you will realize.

Step more out of your comfort zone

Magic happens out of your comfort zone. This is where you grow the most. This is where you learn more about yourself. Even if you get rejected never let that limit your potential. When I was a kid, I did public speaking. I did it twice. Both times I failed miserably at it. I promised myself I would do it again in college. In college, I did it again and I came in first place.

If I had held onto the experience as a kid I wouldn’t have done it again. I would still have stage fright. By stepping out of my comfort zone I learned so much about myself. I grew so much because I refused to let it define who I was. Magic happens when you understand that rejection isn’t supposed to stop you, but push you. This is what happens when you redirect rejection. This is what happens when you no longer see rejection has something that will keep you in a box.

Here’s another example. I am an introvert. As a kid I used to be socially awkward. I thought if people knew me they wouldn’t want to be around me. Then I realized that it was better to be honest from the get go. I let go of the walls. Started being myself and realized that people appreciated it more. I made friends quicker because of it. I became more confidant than before. I became more assertive. I redirected rejection into something magical. And when I stepped out of my comfort zone eve though I failed more, I learned faster. That sent me on a trajectory that has changed my life for the better.

Don’t allow rejection to define you

Don’t let rejection define you? Don’t personalize it. Most times when we face rejection, we personalize it. This a recipe for disaster. Why? Because rejection is something that happens when things are out of our control. They are outside forces at work. You can’t control how people see you. You can’t control whether someone likes something you like or they don’t. You can’t control certain outcomes, but you can learn from it.

People are complicated. That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. In fact you are normal. Every person faces rejection in their lifetime. From the job offer they didn’t get to the friends who change they mind about them. We all face rejection. But you just need to redirect it into something positive. Who are you? Does this rejection change who you have always been? If the answers to that are no then why should we personalize it.

I had zero friends before the age of eight unless I count my sister. It took me a while to even understand what having a friend means. I had to learn the hard way. But I grew from it. My roommates chased me away from the apartment we were sharing. I definitely deserve that, but should I personalize their rejection. They were doing what was best for them and honestly it didn’t define who I was.

I have ADHD. So I know rejection very well, but rejection has made me who I am. I now take rejection in my strides. I accept I am not everyone’s person. That is alright. There’s a beauty in that. Those who accept me I appreciate greatly. I would go to bat for them. Don’t let rejection define who you are. Because in reality it doesn’t have any power over who you are.

Why You’re Not Following Your Life Purpose

Why You’re Not Following Your Life Purpose

Why you’re not following your life purpose?

Here are the reasons why you might not be following your life purpose

We all have a life purpose, but most do not know what it is. And that there is the problem. There’s a significant number of people not satisfied with their life. A large proportion that wants more out of life. This group feels like they missed their calling and feels as if they aren’t living their dream lives. The older they get, the more convinced they are that they aren’t living their dreams.

As time goes, this doesn’t magically disappear because of age. In fact, it becomes worse because most people want to live a life they love, but are unsure how to do it. They want to stop living a life that aren’t satisfied with. And that is why I wanted to write this blog post because I truly believe that when we stop trying to please everyone, we will live our lives. When we stop trying to become like someone else, that is when we discover what we are made of. That is why this blog post might be one of the most important articles you will read on life’s purpose. Why? Because when you find out why you’re not following, your life purpose will help you a lot. This will help you understand what you need to focus on. So drumroll please. Let’s go.

You’re directionless

Raise of hands. Who has felt directionless? I’ve been where you are right now. I used to be directionless, and this was a big proponent of why I didn’t go after my life’s purpose. I did not know what I wanted to do. Nor did I know what direction I should go in. When you’re directionless, you’ll spend years struggling to play catch up and this can deflate your self-esteem.

It is important you have a direction. Would you go on a major trip without knowing what route you should take? No. Right. What about presenting a topic without an idea of the topic you will speak about? No. Right. Problem is we are directionless for our life purpose. We imagine a life where we live on our own terms, but we can’t seem to go in the right direction. Pinpoint the direction you want to go in. If you are a photographer, what kind are you? What do you want your life to be like in the next five or ten years? Who is your target audience? Newly wed couples. Young families. Portraits. Nature.

Choose your direction and it will be easier to figure out the next steps you should take.

A weak why

You aren’t following your life purpose because your why sucks. What this means is that your reasons don’t hold water. Have you ever tried using an old sponge when washing dishes? The old sponge doesn’t hold as much water as a new sponge. Why? Because the pores in the sponge have seen better days. Therefore, they can’t hold enough water.

Your why is like this? Let’s say your life’s purpose is to become a real estate agent. Your why is so that you can make money? This won’t work. Because money isn’t a strong enough factor to push you. One day you work hard and the next when you don’t see results, you will give up. Why? Because you aren’t seeing the results that you won’t and your motivator has disappeared. So, let’s change that why to something more fundamental? Your why is to show people substantial properties so that they don’t feel cheated? You want to change the way real estate works.

This is a much stronger why because you aren’t focusing on the destination, but on the journey. Many of us start like this. We focus heavily on his destination. If I make X amount per month, my life will change. What if you don’t make that money? Then what? Focus on the journey rather than the destination.

“A Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     – Lao Tzu

Focus on the journey rather than the destination

The third reason you’re not following your life purpose is because you are spending way too much of your energy on the destination rather than the journey. That is why the quote above is so important. Every journey in life begins with the first step. Sometimes that is all you need to focus on. Step one. That is it. What do you want to achieve? How do you want to achieve it? Focus on step one. Focus on the baby step. And then you can see the whole thing coming together.

That is the key. Everything comes together. You now see a path that you didn’t see before and you understand what you need to do. Here’s an example. You want to start a blog. Step one. Find what you want to write about. Step two. Research your competitors. What are they writing about? Who is their target audience? Reverse engineer. Find the sweet spot so that you can compete. Then design your blog. Easier said than done. I know that, but this is a simple snippet to understand.

Climbing up a ladder is easier when you take your time climbing each rung. When you try to step on the rung far from your reach, you’ll hurt yourself. That is why you need to focus on the step ahead of you. That is how to get to where you’re going without breaking a sweat. Okay, you’ll break a sweat, but at least you won’t exhaust yourself trying to do too many things all at once.

Fear has gotten you down

The fourth and last reason you’re not following your life’s purpose is fear. It can be a fear of people’s opinions or your own. What if I fail? What if I’m not good enough? What will people say? The list goes on. So, you need to decide. Imagine there are two doors and you need to choose. One is blue, and the other is red. Now, choose the blue door and you’re life will be as simple as it can be. They will be no hurdles or hiccups. You will experience an average and ordinary life because you took no risks.

Did I bore you yet? The red door is full of adventure, hiccups, extraordinary measures and roadblocks. Or did I forget to mention danger? Not the kind that will poison you or get you killed. Still, it will have adventure and heartbreak. You will explore the world, but also put yourself out there. You will find yourself and yet lose part of yourself. Your old self, that is. You walk with more confidence yet squirm when you step out of your comfort zone. Hope I painted a splendid picture.

Here’s the thing: you can only choose one door. So pick wisely. There’s nothing wrong with either choice. It’s up to. But the red door you will grow more and the blue door you won’t change as much. Fear holds us hostage, and it is the reason many of us aren’t following your life’s purpose. How you combat this is by letting of what people say. Heck, let go of what you think and just do it. Take that leap. You won’t regret it.

Why Your Belief System Is A Success Factor?

Why Your Belief System Is A Success Factor?

Why your belief system is a success factor

Find out why your belief system is a success factor.

We all have heard that saying, “you are what you think you are.” Most of us wonder if this is even true. Are we truly what we think we are? It’s been said that the most powerful computer actually isn’t a computer you’ll find at NSA or the pentagon. No. Our brains are the most powerful computer. Whatever we think of can compute in mere seconds. That’s powerful. Your belief system is a success factor. Why? How? Think of it this way. Have negative thoughts ever consumed you? Was your life better because of it or worse off?

Your belief system is a powerful motivational booster, but it can also destroy you. Whether we want to accept it or not, we are a product of our thoughts. I have been there, and I know how powerful our belief system can be. I’ve seen it firsthand how one thought can change someone’s life. Here’s an interesting fact. Did you know we need three to five positive thoughts to combat one negative one? Think about that. Negative thoughts have far more weight than positive ones. Not because it’s true, but because as human beings we are wired to take negativity more seriously. That’s our survival mode. It’s why we pay attention to what’s negative or bad news compared to the positive. Below is why your belief system is a success factor.

Power of thought

My brother gave me this is plaque when I was a little kid. It’s called the “Winners Creed.” Basically, it states that the person who wins the race isn’t necessarily the best runner or the best at what he does. No, the person who wins often is the one who believes that they can. That’s the thing with life. You are what you think you are. When I was younger, I thought I was a talentless hack, and you know what I was right. Because that was my belief system. I held onto it as if it was true and it ultimately became.

Our brains are extremely powerful. Incapable of so much. We can achieve so much. And that is, you need to steer your belief system in the right direction. If you don’t, you will believe in things that won’t help you to become successful. Success is determined by a lot of things. It’s determined by your ability to motivate yourself. It reflects your belief system. Why are successful people confidant? It’s because they believe they can find a solution to their problems. They believe they have what it takes to become successful. Yes, it’s that simple.

Your thoughts have more weight than you think they do. It all comes to what your belief system is and how it will determine your success.

Failure is just a word

Failure is just a word. Yet, we put so much weight on it. As if it is everything. But it really isn’t. Your belief system determines what happens. If you take failure to heart, it will mess you up. You will start thinking that you aren’t equipped to do anything. As someone who struggled with ADHD when I failed, it was like the end of the world. When I made a mess of things, I’d curl into a ball because it always seemed way more important than it was.

It took me time and reflection to realize failure doesn’t determine where I go from here. I do. If I take it with a pinch of salt, then I’ll be fine. If I see it as a motivational booster, I’ll grow from it. Your system of belief will determine how you see failure. Do you see it as a roadblock or something that is holding you back? Everyone successful has failed at something. If they hadn’t, then they wouldn’t be successful. They wouldn’t be who they are today. Here’s an example. When I was younger, a Tom Cruise movie came on. It was one of his first movies and I remember how awful that movie was. I remember little except how I hated it. Afterwards I was like, “Tom Cruise couldn’t act.”

It was a revelation. That one of the best actors couldn’t act when he started. But he never gave up. He kept pushing himself, and now here he was. I’m not a Tom Cruise fan, never been. But I admired Tom’s resilience. Whatever you start, chances are you will suck at it. But that doesn’t mean you will continue to suck at it. See, our belief systems have more power than we think they do.

Reprogram how you see failure

How you see failure will determine so many things, including your belief system. It isn’t as hard as it seems. You just need to stop seeing it as something that is holding you back. See it as an opportunity to grow. The most successful people have all failed time and time again. No one is born knowing how to do something. Wow! Mind blown. That’s what I realized. We are so hard on ourselves for failing at something, yet no one is born knowing how to do something.

Before a baby can walk, it has to roll, then crawl, and finally it stumbles until they can walk and finally run. It’s a slow process. When a baby falls. They cry. But after they have calmed down, they get up and keep going. Imagine if a baby chose not to do this, then they’ll never walk. Remember when you learned how to write or ride a bike? Wasn’t it hard? What about when you learned how to use a pen?

Kids embrace failure because they know that this is just the start of their life. Their belief system is far more powerful than an adult because they see their potential. Start seeing your potential. Where you want to go? Who you want to become? See all that you can achieve if you don’t give. That’s how powerful your belief system is. Lean into that and you will be shocked at where you find yourself.

Embrace change

When you embrace change, it will open doors to places you never imagined. When I was twenty-one, I hated change. Thought it was the end of the world. When I accepted it and embrace it. Things changed. I travelled. I lived in Switzerland and South Africa. It was as if my blinders were finally off and I realized that change is beautiful.

Change opens doors and eyes. It creates opportunity. I’m better because I embrace change. Your belief system helps determine how you see change. If you don’t embrace change, then whenever it happens, it will wreck you. Life is like a river. It flows in one direction. Outside forces can change the course or even can alter the force of the river. Things happen we can’t do anything about. Sure, you have accepted the weather. What about the bigger obstacles like losing your job, a health scare or even death?

What about a change, of course? Or something bigger. Then what? Learn to embrace change because once you do, you’ll be ready. Not saying it will be easy when you come across obstacles. No. Still. You will be prepared. Remember, your belief system determines how you see change. So start seeing it in a positive light.

Never give up

Your belief system will determine whether you give up or you don’t. It’s important to never give up. Sure, they are things that aren’t worth it. Like no point in holding onto a toxic friendship or abusive relationship. Throwing in the towel is a good idea. What about projects you are working on? Or the dreams you envision? What about them? Most of us give in. Not because we are incapable of doing it.

It’s bigger than that. Most of us aren’t sure if it’s worth it or rather we aren’t sure if the hardship will reap huge rewards. So, we give up. Throw in the towel. Choose to move on. When people ask us what happened? We tell them we weren’t successful. No wants to feel like a failure. No one wants to feel as if they haven’t achieved their dreams. Guess what? Giving up won’t comfort you. You will always wonder what if. We’re consumed by the opinions of others over what we want to do with our lives?

People will always have opinions. Whether you choose to do something or don’t. It doesn’t matter. After I published a book, my friend asked me who I thought I was. I wasn’t Danielle Steel. We are no longer friends. I appreciate she said it to me rather than behind my back. I digress. I realize now that when you do something, people don’t understand, they’ll have negative opinions. Not everyone. Make shifts and changes. Never give up. You deserve to go after your dreams. Your belief system will help you understand so much about yourself. It will also determine whether you will be successful.

Busting Making Money Online Myths

Busting Making Money Online Myths

Busting Making Money Online Myths

They are numerous making money online myths, the four below are the most common and popular.

Here I am again. Your personal myth buster. Haven’t done a segment like this in a while. So, I thought I would dust my favorite yellow myth busting jacket. Take it out of the closet and tantalize your interest. So this year I wanted to bust making money online myths. Here’s the thing about making money. It isn’t easy and there is so much noise out there. No white noise. No, this is the kind of noise that gives you a migraine because of misinformation or just too much information.

The internet has been around since the 90’s. That’s a long time. Making money online started as early as the late 90’s. Strange right, but if you were old enough back, then you must remember subscriptions and even paying for email newsletters. Back then, though, it was in its infancy. Too young to make a dent or splash in the papers. Not enough people were interested.

Making money online became popular after 2008. When the world was hit with a tsunami of bad news. You remember the year? People lost their jobs. Inflation was at an all-time high. Well before the pandemic. College grads were now wondering what they’d do with their life. High school seniors weren’t optimistic about their future. It just wasn’t the best year. But that is when entrepreneurship became popular and more people were trying to find out how to make money online. So, this isn’t a new wave. Every year, this industry grows. And because of that, so do the tails start wagging even more. They are a lot of myths out there. So, I thought I would take the time to bust making money online myths.

Myth 1# People don’t make money online

I have an aunt who I love dearly. When she visited my family seven years ago before, I really made headway in making money online. She told me a story about how a friend of hers’ lost money online. She then told me, ” people don’t make money online.” Now, I had done my research and knew that they are dozens of ways to make money online. I couldn’t blame her. They are many people who think that.

So here’s the first making money online myth that I want to bust. People make money online. You know that adage; they are many ways to skin a cat. What they don’t tell you is that they are right and wrong ways to do it. They are people who never make money online. That’s because they aren’t doing it the right way. Be smart when you want to make money online. That requires foresight and something many of us are terrible at. You got it. Patience. Be patient. You know squirrels spend a lot of their time finding the right nuts to bury. They will forage until they find the right nuts. Many of us aren’t patient. We give up way too early and because of that, we cannot achieve what we want.

If you want to make money, then you need to practice patience. Not the easiest thing to do, but it is the most rewarding thing you can do. Think of what you want to achieve and then focus on that. Let that be the reason behind your purpose.

Myth 2# You need lots of money to make money online

They are dozens of ways to make money online. Some require more money than others. Others you don’t need as much. There’s a twofold way to bust making money online myth two. The first fold is that you can start simple and progress from there. What skills do you have? Maybe you are great at writing or even good at being on camera.

Starting a blog or YouTube channel requires the least amount of money. In 2018, when I started my blog. I didn’t have any money. There was zero dollars in my bank account. My big brother sent me some money. I put it in a bank account. It was only one hundred dollars, and I started my blog with that. I paid for a month using Hostgator and I went from there. Sometimes you don’t need the full picture. Often you just need a smaller one. Use what you have instead of focusing on what you don’t. Even if you have no money, you can borrow or you can make money. I will share that with you later.

You can even start with a YouTube channel. Just use your phone and a lavalier mic that you can get for $20. That’s all you need. So myth two has been busted. If you still have doubts, think about how massive the internet is. It is literally it’s own country. A global opportunity that awaits you to take a chance and decide that you can do it.

Myth 3# You need to be a genius

Maybe you aren’t an intellectual. Few people are. You might not create the next big thing, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make money online. I was once told to find what people want and give them that. That is the secret to making money online. So, it isn’t novel. So what? Give people what they want. That’s how people make money. Follow the trends and figure out what is missing. See what people are doing and do that. You don’t need to be brainy to make money online.

That is one of the biggest making money online myths out there. Change your perspective. Realize that you can be an average Jane or Joe and still make money. In fact, the more relatable you are, the better. Those are the people we connect with. Not the top gurus. Sure they make money. Being famous has its advantages. Those of us who were slow to jump on the ride need relatability to connect with people. They are people who once were relatable who no longer are because they forgot what made people connect with them.

The best way to make money is by looking at your skill set. We all have skills. No single person on the planet doesn’t have that one thing they excel at. And I’m sure they are people who would pay good money to learn that. Unless your skill is so niche and out there that people wouldn’t be interested in. That’s rare though. People these days can make money from literally anything. So, you are in good company. Myth three has been busted. Now onto the last one.

Myth 4# Making money online is a scam

For every con artist, there is a legit salesperson. Did you ever read Confessions of a Door to Door sales agent? It was a brilliant read. It tells the story of a struggling salesperson. He struggled to sell his products for several reasons. Many thought he was a scammer. The second reason is he was selling things no one wanted. Perhaps he was selling to the wrong demographic. And he didn’t know how to market his products.

There will always be people who question everything online. “Did so and so really make money from doing that?” I remember reading how webnovel platforms were scammers because of how they’d approach authors instead of the other way around. Now, self-publishing is still better because you make more money but webnovelists do make money.

A webnovel is simply when an author serializes his content or novel and publishes it on a platform. Think Charles Dickens. Now, don’t get me wrong, they are online scams. You just have to be picky with what you spend your time on. The way I look at is like this. The marketplace was niche. So con artists back in the day would con those that were in a particular city or district. Now, the marketplace is global. They are more options out there to scam people. But not everything is a scam. Therefore, you need to take your time understanding how to make money online.

The number one reason people get scammed is that they aren’t knowledgeable. That’s why I created this blog post series. By the end you will know how to bust making money online myths. You will also know how to make money online without losing sleep and losing hair.
